Fight The Dragon – Kickstarter launched!

We are super excited to announce that we have launched a Kickstarter campaign for Fight The Dragon – our latest game in development at 3 Sprockets.

FTD Main Small

Fight The Dragon is a 3D Mini Action-RPG (MARPG) in which players journey on short form adventures, hacking and slashing their way through hordes of enemies in search of rare loot and shiny things. Fight The Dragon also ships with an in-game Adventure Construction Kit that allows players to create entire adventures and share them with players on all platforms.

We also have a Developer Blog here…

We’d love you to check out the campaign, watch the video, and of course support us by backing the project and spreading the word to everyone you know and even those you don’t 🙂

Developer interview about Cubemen 2

We just did a cool developer interview with @NintenDaan and @_Nnooo about 3 Sprockets, Cubemen 2, Wii-U and we also discussed some of the cool new stuff coming in our next Cubemen 2 MEGA 1.2 update.

You can listen to the interview here:

I should note that there are also other cool dev interviews in that podcast so it’s worth a listen to in it’s entirety 🙂

Cubemen 2 coming to the Wii-U

We are proud to announce that we are working closely with Nintendo and our publisher Nnooo to bring Cubemen 2 to the Wii-U.

The super exciting thing here is that Cubemen 2 will be the first game on a Nintendo gaming platform to offer true cross-platform multi-plyer gaming and user generated content sharing.

This is a HUGE win for both us and Nnooo and we are working very hard to get it out as soon as possible.

You can view the Nnooo press release here:

Stay tuned for more information as it is announced.

Cubemen 2 on iOS & Mac App Stores

Cubemen 2 is currently rolling out on the iOS and Mac App Stores and well, to say that we are excited is a complete understatement.

We have been working very very hard on Cubemen 2 for so long now that seeing it finally launch on iOS is such a huge relief and accomplishment.

The response so far has been beyond fantastic and we are now super excited to get version 1.1 into everyones hands.

Viva La Cubemen 2

Cubemen 2 Steam launch a huge success!

We finally made it and launched Cubemen 2 on Steam, and the launch week was a huge success for us.

Cubemen 2 out sold Cubemen 1 for the same launch period and the user feedback has been AMAZING. We have also had some awesome levels created from the Community, over 600 so far!

We also pushed out 3 updates in the last week, including bug fixes, tweaks and new features based on customer feedback, like the ability to choose your Cubemen colours for single player game modes.

So now that Steam is out of the way, we are hard at work finishing off our iOS and Mac App Store versions and hope to have them ready for submission very soon.

We are also working on new content including:

  • A second defense campaign
  • More skins and themes
  • In-game Chat for the MP game lobbies
  • More MP team options like 2v4 and 1v5
  • and lots more….

We look forward to getting these new features out to you and are super excited to have new iOS and MAS players coming on board soon.

That’s it for now… happy Cubemen-ing 🙂

Last day before Steam launch…

This is it folks. Less than 24 hours until Steam launch of Cubemen 2 on Windows, OSX and Linux.

Doing some final tweaks… prob shouldn’t be, but that’s part of the fun of being Indie 🙂

Please follow us on Twitter or Facebook (links at top right) and wish us luck for launch.

We’ll see you on the flip side!

So close to Steam launch, we can smell it!

With only a handfull of days to go before we finally launch Cubemen 2 on Steam, panic and stress starts to set in as it becomes a mad rush to fix final bugs, prepare marketing material and press release information, get the website finished and somewhere in all of that, remember to eat and breathe.

It’s been a crazy development cycle with an awesome amount of feature creep and over a solid month of focused beta testing, but if there is anything we have learnt from years of making games is that the second a title is released, some clever users always start finding bugs.

So we are looking forward to a few weeks of little sleep, high pressure and mixed joy and frustration that is the essence of release week… and we can’t think of anything else we’d rather be doing!

Bring it on….

So it begins… The countdown to launch… April 8th !

We have decided to publicly announce our Steam launch date… April 8th, 2013. That’s right, just over 3 weeks to go and Cubemen 2 will be launching on Steam.

Right now we plan on launching with Windows, OSX and Linux support, but there is a slight chance that Linux will be a few weeks late as we have some un-resolved engine issues that we are waiting on fixes for, and the reality is, they may just not make it in time.

Cubemen 2 will also be launching on iOS and the Mac App Store, but we have no set a release date yet, nor are we ready to release info on what iOS devices we will be supporting, but when we are ready to spill them beans, we won’t be quiet about it 🙂

The beta testing is going well, and the bug list is shrinking every day. We are pretty confident launch will go by without any major hiccups, but you never know with a multi-player game like Cubemen 2.

Today, even though we have not launched yet, we added the User Level Gallery to the site showcasing some of the levels that have been created by us and beta testers. This page is dynamic and shows the latest levels being added as users make them and publish them.

Cubemen 2 will launch with our Uber level editor, allowing users to immediately create and share levels with other users. We have also made level creation an offline process, so you can make and play levels without connecting to our servers, and only need to access servers to publish and share levels.

We have also made finding levels in Cubemen 2 a pretty awesome experience, with prebuilt galleries that show you the latest levels added, the most popular levels and a buch of random levels. If that isn’t enough, we have also added Search ability to find levels by author name and level name.
